Nasceu em Lisboa em 1976, mas foi no Brasil que cresceu até 1991. É licenciado em Estudos Teatrais, Mestre em Estudos Portugueses (Representações da Morte no Conto Tradicional Português, Colibri, 2011) e Doutor em Artes, Cultura e Comunicação, com a tese Narração Oral: uma arte performativa. Colabora com o Instituto de Estudos de Literatura Tradicional da Universidade Nova de Lisboa e o Centro de Investigação em Artes e Comunicação da Universidade do Algarve.
Conta histórias desde 2003, em bibliotecas, escolas, associações, teatros e festivais, em Portugal e no estrangeiro. Criou projectos como os Contapetes, os Contapetes Bebés, a Barraquinha dos Contos, as Contatinas, entre outros. Ograniza encontros e conferências dedicadas à narração oral, tais como as duas edições de Narração Oral: Instrumento, Tradição e Arte, em Évora e Faro, ou Tales - Aprender com as histórias na sala de aula, em Beja.

He has a Degree in Theatre, a Master Degree in Portuguese Studies (with the dissertation Representations of Death in Portuguese Folktales) and a PhD in Arts, Culture and Communication (with the thesis Oral Storytelling: a performing art). As a researcher he collaborates with the Institute of Tradition and Literature Studies (New University of Lisbon) and the Arts and Communication Research Centre (University of Algarve). He is a professional storyteller since 2003 working in libraries, schools, theaters and festivals in Portugal and abroad. He works in Portuguese, Spanish, French and English.
